Privacy Policy

AthleteOptics LLC (“AthleteOptics,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit athleteoptics.com, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. CTBrain has its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you fill out our contact form, you give us your name, email address, and the contents of your message, along with your club or organization and role if you choose to share them. If you join the CTBrain waitlist, you also give us your organization type, your country, how many athletes your staff works with, and how you heard about us, if you choose to share them, along with the campaign parameters of the link you arrived through. We use this information to respond to your inquiry.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic technical information when you visit (your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and timestamps) through our hosting infrastructure, and aggregate visit statistics through Umami, a cookieless analytics service. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how you use the site. This information is used for security, debugging, and aggregate operational purposes.

Cookies. AthleteOptics sets no cookies unless you accept them. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you allow Google Analytics cookies; if you decline, or don't answer, Google Analytics does not load and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We never set advertising cookies. We store your choice and your language preference in your browser's local storage so we remember them between visits; that data never leaves your device.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide the information you request.
  • Contact you about CTBrain availability if you join the waitlist.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the website.
  • Comply with applicable laws and respond to legitimate legal requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

How we share information

We work with the following service providers to operate the site:

Amazon Web Services. Hosts the site and processes contact-form submissions.

Umami. Counts visits to the site without cookies and without identifying you. It receives the page you view, the referring site, your browser, device type, language, and approximate country.

Google Analytics. Only if you accept analytics cookies. Measures how visitors use the site, using cookies that tell repeat visits apart. It receives the pages you view, the referring site, your browser, device type, language, approximate location, and your IP address. Advertising features are turned off.

Cloudflare Turnstile. Checks that the contact form is sent by a person and not a bot. It loads when the form comes into view and receives technical signals from your browser, including your IP address.

Pexels. Provides some of the images shown on the site.

Each provider handles data according to its own privacy practices. We do not share your information with any other third party.

Data retention

We retain contact-form submissions for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and, where applicable, maintain a working relationship with your organization. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider's default retention periods, typically 30 to 90 days.

You can request deletion of your data at any time. See Your rights below.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your information (the right to be forgotten).
  • Object to or restrict how we process your information.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at team@athleteoptics.com. We will respond within 30 days.

International data transfers

AthleteOptics LLC operates from the United States. If you visit our site from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws differ from those in your country. We rely on appropriate safeguards, including AWS's standard contractual clauses, for international transfers.

Children's privacy

The AthleteOptics website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
